Thanks for the reply and testing we appreciate it! We have an outside developer that works on the occasional project for us that I asked to look at this as well. He thinks he found a solution and here is what he said:
It seems that the event plugin itself fails to handle the added product when you refresh or try to update the cart items (registration details) when it comes again to the first screen before proceeding with payment.
Here are the steps:
1. Customer enters player details for two players
2. Redirected to checkout page
3. Customer decides to update the details, or for some other reason they press the back button or end up back on the registration another way
4. The Event plugin is unable to pre-load the entered data. So the customer likely gets confused and may enter the data again
5. If customer entered only 1 player info this time (the second time), One element will be overwritten and the second key remains without information in it.
6. This null key creates us blank registrations!
7. If the customer proceeds to checkout after filling out two players, same as the first step or another way (manual url redirect) to checkout without editing the player information will not make this blank registration.
The solution we’re trying is to clear the existing all event products from cart before proceeding to add to cart from the event registration page.
He suggested we notify you as well in case that helps with improving the plugin. Let me know if this helps or if it is something that might be useful for future versions.

working on implementing some solutions on our end as well and we’ll let you

Thanks for the reply and the suggestion. Unfortunately, our cart does not give have a counter on the cart page itself so that solution doesn’t seem to apply. We have the counter on the registration page itself on the page prior, and then once someone enters all of their information and clicks “Add to Cart” they are brought to the checkout page and can complete the order. One of our registration pages can be seen at the link below.

Before we close this thread… Have any other users posted on this in the past along with custom solutions they might have created? I am hoping we don’t have to start at square 1 when trying to solve this problem.
