ParticipantWe have resolved the issue, thank you.
Can you please answer this question: WHAT URL DO I USE TO SHOW MULTIPLE MONTHS OF THE EVENTS CALENDAR ON OUR APP?
Bryan Finley
ParticipantI have allowed system information.
The url we were using was http://www.hopenc.org/whats-happening/2017-01/?ical=1. The we changed it to http://www.hopenc.org/whats-happening/2017-02/?ical=2 to pull February events. All was displayed correctly until I noticed the problem today.

ParticipantNo tney are still showing 3 hours later in the app. For example the Ephesians 930 class is still showing as 1230 in the app.
Bryan Finley
Participanti went ahead and adjusted all events to utc-5
Bryan Finley
Participantyou mean manually always switch each event to utc-5 when i first put them in the calendar?
Bryan Finley
Participantuse the sitewide timezone everywhere is the events calendar setting and WP setting is UTC-5
broken down by event:
christmas pause is utc-5
ephesians class is utc-0
worship service is utc-0
christmas eve service is utc-5Bryan Finley
ParticipantNo, they are not all the same.
Christmas pause is dec 2 at 7 pm in the calendar but in the iCal feed it’s showing in the app as starting at 10pm (3 hours later)
But then for the Ephesians class, it starts at 930am est, but is showing in the iCal feed as 730am (2 hours earlier).
The worship service at 10 is showing up at 8am (2 hours early) and Christmas Eve is at 630pm but showing as 930 in iCal (3 hours later)Bryan Finley
Participantnow that i made the adjustment that you suggested, all of my times are off in the website calendar. for example, christmas pause on dec 2nd was input at 7pm-930pm and is now showing 2pm to 430pm on the website calendar. and still showing incorrectly in the ical feed for the app at 5pm-730?
so i went into the event to edit and saw the times were still set to 7pm but the UTC field below said utc-0 instead of utc-5 for est. if my settings are set to est, why is the utc field being auto set to utc-o? i adjusted that for the particular event, but i shouldnt have to manually set that every time?Bryan Finley
Participanthi nico,
i did what you suggested and it updated the time in the feed but it is still incorrect. it was showing in the feed as PDT timezone (3 hours later) even tho all settings were set to EST. Now it is showing as 2 hours earlier than EST. for example, christmas pause event is showing as 5pm when it is supposed to be 7pm. i took a picture of the setting in wordpress showing i have it set to est and how it is showing the local time correctly at 9:36am (you can see on my computer it matches).
i asked the app people to make sure the issue was not on their end. they checked and said it is the way it is coming thru on the ical feed. they made some comments and asked me to share with you:“Oh no! I was hoping that setting the Dashboard to PST would manually adjust the time back 3 hours as it appears in the App. Rats, it doesn’t look like that adjusted the iCal feed. It might be worth reaching out to your website provider to ask them for some help, as there isn’t anything more I can think to change from my end.
I would ask your website provider about how the Time Zone is included into the iCal feed. My colleague and I noticed that the iCal feed is currently using the time zone code of UTC+0, which is actually the London time zone. We would expect that the iCal feed would include the correct UTC for the Eastern United States, which is UTC+5.
You can see it here in the iCal feed. TZID is the code for Time Zone:
BEGIN:VEVENT
DTSTART;TZID=UTC+0:20161030T114500DTEND;TZID=UTC+0:20161030T131500
DTSTAMP:20161123T205714
CREATED:20160908T002030Z
LAST-MODIFIED:20161010T230102Z
SUMMARY:Newcomer’s Lunch
Perhaps you can forward this information along in an email to your website provider 🙂
I’m so sorry that the timezones are giving us trouble April, but it appears the website system and our system are having trouble communicating with each other in a way I haven’t seen before. Let me know if I can be of any more help as you write to your website provider, and keep me in the loop if they can offer any additional information!”

Participanthi nico! ok i found my functions.php file and updated the 99 with 134 because that is the tag_id in the URL for the “no” tag i created to mean exclude from the ical feed for the app. however it is still showing in the app.
also, i am putting the events into the calendar for EST time zone and have my settings set to EST, and my app is set to EST but the ical feed is sending them over in PDT. is there another setting adjustment i need to make that i am unaware of? thanks!
Bryan Finley
Participantthank you nico! i added the URL to the app and the events did pull into the app. however, i added the tag 99 and those events are not excluded. when i click on the event, it does show tag 99 on it.
Bryan Finley
Participantcan you tell me how to find the ical feed for my calendar so i can add it to the app settings? thanks!
Bryan Finley
ParticipantOk i had our web person add it to the functions file. how do i utilize the tag field now? i know how to add a tag, but what do i use as the actual tag to make sure it will be excluded from ical feed? thanks!
