ParticipantHi Cliff,
Feed Issue: Providing this specificity “but you can add the code to your active theme’s functions.php file” is helpful. That’s easy to do. Thank you.
Page X Crawl Issues: I am not canonicalize pages, so the solution provided isn’t applicable to these errors. Please advise next steps.
Thank you

ParticipantHi –
Now I’m getting additional spurious “non-feed” ‘Not Found URLs’ under my Google Crawl Errors.
Here’s an example: ptownevents.com/events/category/theme-week/page/5.
These aren’t appearing as Soft 404s. They just started yesterday.

ParticipantThanks for the quick reply but it would have been helpful to know this information in the 1st reply. I guess there’s an assumption on Support’s part that their customer code.
I don’t code, hence the use of plug-ins.
You mentioned in a reply in late January from another user who is experiencing this problem that the team is working to fix it in the next release. Is there any update on when this can be expected?
It is generating lots of NOT FOUND crawl errors which do impact search rankings, and are time consuming to fix.
An update about when this issue will be resolved – or better a patch plug-in generated by your team to hold me over – would be appreciated.
Thanks

ParticipantThe solution you linked to doesn’t include instructions about where to post the code snippet.
Please advise what file I should include this code in.
Thank you

ParticipantI updated and emptied the cache. I’m not sure what you mean by run the Search Console again. My understanding is that the console reflects what Google finds as crawls it the site. I can re-submit the xml site maps, but the site maps don’t contain these URLs. Can you explain what you mean by run teh Search Console again?
Two other questions:
1. An updated notice didn’t show on my Plug-ins page. Should I be checking for updates myself?
2. The plug-in install failed, but I manually uploaded through FTP. Is there something I’m doing incorrectly that would cause the install through WP to fail? Thanks for you help.

ParticipantGiven I’m not a technical person, reading the documentation didn’t help me understand which themes I should consider switching to.
So I can ensure I pick a theme that is compatible, can I send you the themes I’m considering? The only one i have right now is: ExtraVersion: 1.3.9; By Elegant Themes

ParticipantAs I wrote to George, if there is no information posted on the themes you support, then how can a customer like myself make an informed decision about what theme to use?
I’m now caught in a poor situation, and you’ve provided no solution other than entirely changing a theme. It’s really not a very customer-centered product if you’re not providing such critical information.
Very disappointed.
Who in sales can I contact about this issue?

ParticipantHi Cliff,
CAn you point me to the list of themes you support on your site. I can’t find the list and want to know what’s considered “and the like” to see what other themes I can use.
Thanks

ParticipantHey George,
I was browsing the forums, and many people are reporting a similar problem with reoccurring events. Even today there are posts. They are also getting a similar answer – that your team can’t reproduce – for other support people.
Perhaps all instances of this issue need to be aggregated and addressed by the same person.

ParticipantWill do. However I discovered a part of the problem.
1. The excludes aren’t being saved. I enter the days I want to exclude during the week, and publish. But when I go back in, the program hasn’t saved the excludes, and it publishes one instance of the event on the same day of the week as the initial event.
2. While the event appears as a once week event in my events list, it doesn’t appear on the calendar.
Gregg
ParticipantHi Support – when can we expect a response to the latest issue with reoccurring events? Even a “we’re looking at it” would be appreciated so I know it’s being looked into.
Thanks Gregg
