Participantthanks team – any idea when the new update will be shipped? We need to give an ETA to the client

ParticipantThanks Cliff – appreciate the work you have put into investigating this. I look forward to the fix in an upcoming update.

ParticipantHi Cliff
I have updated Genesis to the latest version and did some further testing on this and another test site on my server.
It’s not search results that are showing the links incorrectly, but the single events URLs are created with an extra “\” in them, at the first place.
If you’ll go to WP Admin -> Events and open any event for editing, you’ll notice this “\” as part of original event permalink.
(Screenshot: http://www.awesomescreenshot.com/image/1116006/1574c285a7ec9361b6180b5f0145134f)This URL structure persists no mater which WordPress theme you have active. (I tested it again with Genesis and Twenty Fifteen themes)
“The Events Calendar” plugin has settings page to add “Events URL slug” and “Single event URL slug” at WP Admin -> Events -> Settings. Apparently, it’s the limitation at the plugin’s end that using slug with a “-” works for “Events URL slug” but not for “Single event URL slug”. You’ll notice, event links will get fixed, if you change “whats-on” to “whatson” in “Single event URL slug” setting.
Many thanks

ParticipantHi Cliff
I have resaved the permalinks again and the issue still persists. Here is a screenshot of the entire permalinks page.

I have done some further investigation.
- Changing to TwentyFifteen Theme resolved the issue.
The issue remained when I did the following:
- Changed Theme Back to FlyingArts Genesis Child Theme.
- Disabled all plugins except The Events Calendar and Advanced Custom Fields Pro (issue persists)
- I removed all the templates from the Genesis Child Theme, and removed all functions except defining the child theme (issue persists)
- I then switched the theme to the StudioPress.com Genesis Theme Framework / Parent Theme (issue persists)
So it is apparent the issues is with the Genesis Theme and Events Plugin. Is this somethin g you can help with?
Many thanks

ParticipantHi Brian,
Thanks for your reply. We’ve upvoted the appropriate user suggestion, so here’s to hoping that it’s something that can be implemented at some point. Unfortunately it doesn’t look as if the other third party plug-in will suit out needs either.
Thank you for your assistance!

ParticipantAlso Geoff – further to my original message – is there a way to display a message though the shortcode when there are not events to display.
Eg; display something like ‘sorry there are no upcoming events?’
Cheers

ParticipantThanks Geoff – we’ve started making some changes but notices that it also changes the widget in the sidebar – we only want to effect the shortcode – not the sidebar widget…is this possible? At the very least to only display the excerpt for the shortcode not the sidebar widget.
Cheers

ParticipantThanks Geoff – that file structure seems to be working. Can I just check:
the part I want to replace is this
<div class=”tribe-mini-calendar-event event-<?php esc_attr_e( $mini_cal_event_atts[‘current_post’] ); ?> <?php esc_attr_e( $mini_cal_event_atts[‘class’] ); ?>”>
I’m assuming I can use the tribe_event_featured_image() here instead, can I check – do I need to write a custom class to assign the div – or is there one already that I can use?
Cheers

ParticipantOkay thanks Geoff – I’ve just tried to find a past event or one of my categories and it doesn’t seem to show.
Here is the URL
Note that the /events/ slug has been changed to /programs-events/
any clues as to how to get this working?
