ParticipantThank you. Will I lose any settings or configurations if I update to the latest versions?

ParticipantHey guys, we have gone ahead and paid another developer to patch the plugin for us. This took him less than an hour. Here are his comments:
“The plugin “Community Events” appears to have been incompletely developed before it was sold to you. I have found that there is inconsistencies in the naming conventions of form fields for the organizer section and how that maps as an array to the saving of meta data to post types. To patch this up quickly as discussed, I have made it so that all events created through the front-end can only have one existing Organizer selected at the time of event creation. I have removed the link that used to be there that would allow multiple Organizers to be listed. I have also added some code to patch up the broken naming conventions so that all Organizer meta data is stored as intended.”
We are very disappointed that there hasn’t been a resolution to this issue. Allyson, please email me directly at kyle-at-blackfoot-dot-net-dot-nz if you would like an instance of this patched plugin. Keep a copy incase the updates break it again.

ParticipantHey Geoff I appreciate that you have already said you don’t have a time frame or date for the fix on this, but can we sort one out? Please understand that we have invested both time and money into implementing this service that we’ve paid for, and the client has had to delay their launch because of it. I must assume that this is your top priority because it’s a broken product, and for that reason I hope you understand the importance of letting us know a time frame for us to change our plans for. We can’t wait ‘Maybe days, maybe weeks, maybe months’.
Thanks,
KyleJane
ParticipantHey Geoff, I was just hoping to get a quick update on where you guys got to with this? The client has just been in for a meeting and we are very keen to go live on Monday in the hopes that this issue will be resolved this week. Please let me know how that sits with you.
Cheers,
ScottJane
ParticipantHey Geoff I am following the same steps you are:
Set Community Events submissions to Draft status when submitted
this was already setup in Events > Settings so there was no active action here, is that correct?
Create a new event as an anonymous (non-logged in) user
Again this was also already ticked in Events > Settings in the dashboard, so no active action was done here when I tested, is that correct?
Select an existing Organizer in the event options
No I was trying to set up a new one, there was currently no Organizer in the event options
Submit the events
Yep
Check the event in the admin dashboard
Yep
Regarding the name changed from Organizers to Teachers, this is simply a label change done by javascript on page load.
Any way, I’ve tried flipping over to Twenty Thirteen, disabling all plugins except Tribe Events and flushing cache, unfortunately the issue is exactly the same as last time.

ParticipantHey Geoff,
Quite simply what happens for us is that the Organizer fields simply don’t get filled out. Below is a link to a couple screenshots of what I submitted on the front end, and what we are getting in the back end.
This is done while logged out and another try logged in, both give us the same result. The client at this point is really angry about it. Also she gets two emails every time a class is submitted, do you know what could be causing that duplicate?

ParticipantThanks Brook. I feel like I could do that with a little bit of direction. What terms should I use when trying to find the WP Tagging JS? Is it correct to assume that my two steps are to
1. Add a JS script to the page, modified in the Community Events plugin itself,
2. Add a field into the form, this field should mimic the Tagging field in the right sidebar when creating a post? Inspecting it, it appears to be this<input type=”text” id=”new-tag-post_tag” name=”newtag[post_tag]” class=”newtag form-input-tip” size=”16″ autocomplete=”off” value=””>
