Can you try replicating it on a site with > 10,000 posts please?

    Hello,

I adapted the SQL code on the other thread to my needs.

I will note that the other SQL code deleted all of my taxonomy terms as well as the extra events – this isn’t ideal! I adapted the script to delete the terms to posts relationship instead.

However, the issue why I started looking into this still exists:

When clicking ‘edit all’ on the event the browser (Chrome) hangs, then says the page is non-responsive and needs killing

Can you offer some advice on how to fix this please?

Thanks Hunter, but I don’t think this fits my requirements.

We have hundreds of events which are affected by this. Do you have a tool or a solution which will only delete events that occur after my ‘Create recurring events in advance for’ setting please?

Additionally, this has come up because my customer (and I) are having trouble getting the page to load when we click ‘edit all’ – Chrome just hangs around waiting, until a notification says that the page is non-responsive and should be killed.

I used this tool to delete recurring events the event which has the most pregenerated events, but this has not eased the issue. Do you have any suggestions please?

    Thanks,
    Ellie

    Hi Hunter,

Thank you for your reply. My problem is not being caused by PAST events, but by FUTURE events that have not been deleted when I reduced the ‘Create recurring events in advance for’ setting to 1 month. There are still recurring events in the database for 2018.

How can I delete these FUTURE events please?

    Thanks,
    Ellie

    Hi George

The above paragraph appears to be very much copy and paste?

As I have reported to you it is not an issue with the theme it is an issue with BrowseAloud and has only occurred after the last couple of updates you released. Up until that point everything was working fine so from my point of view the updates you have released are currently incompatible with BrowseAloud which is a product we have had installed for the last 2 years.

Perhaps you cannot recreate the issues or have not heard of them because your other customers do not use BrowseAloud?
    https://www.texthelp.com/en-gb/products/browsealoud

The issues would perhaps still be there if I had TwentySixteen installed and the javascript for BrowseAloud was added to a text widget. The only reason it didn’t occur when switching themes is because it was hard coded into the footer. Maybe that should be tested?

    <script type=”text/javascript”>var _baLocale = ‘uk’, _baUseCookies = true, _baHiddenMode = false, _baHideOnLoad = true;</script>
    <script type=”text/javascript” src=”//www.browsealoud.com/plus/scripts/ba.js”></script>

I am not quite sure why you mention the server? I realise you do not make either theme or server however the issue is neither of those.

Until I have tested this with TwentySixteen and the BrowseAloud javascript added then I would like to keep this thread open.

    Sincerely

    Angela

    Thanks for getting back.

I will have to wait until outside working hours to switch themes and will let you know ASAP.

    Thanks

    Hi there Barry

People have been experiencing a great deal of problems with the Events Calendar not loading and I am forever being inundated with emails and the local government and my contract manager are unable to load the calendar successfully.

I too am finding that I might have to refresh many times before the calendar loads.

    http://leedsdirectory.org/whats-on/

There appears to be this issue
    tribe-events.min.js:1 Uncaught TypeError: debug.time is not a function(anonymous function) @ tribe-events.min.js:1j @ jquery.min.js:2k.fireWith @ jquery.min.js:2n.extend.ready @ jquery.min.js:2I @ jquery.min.js:2

Initially there was a problem with Comment Rating Fields Pro however the Author resolved that.

I then thought it might be WP Fastest Cache and have prevented it from caching the Events Calendar pages.

But then looking at the code it appears all of the Events Calendar javascript is loaded in the head. I thought that there may well be an issue with the order the scripts are being loaded. Did some research and found the link as mentioned in the initial post. In there it says that the majority of the Events Calendar javascripts should be loaded in the footer not the head. I am finding that all things are being loaded in the head both js and css. This is not just on my custom theme but on the Twenty Fourteen too.

My assumption may be wrong but going by what I have read Events Calendar js should load in the footer which it isn’t.

Any thoughts on what could be causing the hits and misses with the calendar?

    Thanks

PS While writing this I have changed Jquery and all other scripts to load in the head to see if that makes a difference. It does seem to have had an effect in the sense of loading order however the calendar is still hit and miss for some views.

    Hi there Brian
    Thanks for your response.
I totally appreciate the limitations when dealing with other plugins.
With the plugin switched off I get the following

TypeError: debug.time is not a function. (In ‘debug.time(“Tribe JS Init Timer”)’, ‘debug.time’ is undefined)
    (anonymous function)tribe-events.min.js:1:14280
    jjquery.min.js:1:26930
    fireWithjquery.min.js:1:27739
    readyjquery.min.js:1:29543
    Ijquery.min.js:1:29728

The other plugins installed are the Toolset WP-Types Views Cred which I think may well be conflicting.

I will contact them also and see if there is anything they can do as I cannot switch those off as they are an essential part of the site.

    Thanks
