I had the same problem, you have your, I multiplied recurring events, when the event had started an event, the next day the same event twice, the third day the same event three times and so on.
the solution is to edit when the recurring event, instead of choosing “daily” or “weekly”, is to choose “Custom” from the dropdown menu.
I what I do is this, I edit a unique one day event, with start time and end time
,
below in the section on rules of recurrence in the drop-down box, I choose “Custom” and on the same line the end date of the event is chosen, in case you have end date, because you can choose from the drop “Never”
under this option, the frequency with which they will repeat “Daily” appears every day is repeated until date marked the end of the event, as a rule with the same hours, but this can change, “Weekly”, if like for example that only Monday, Mares and Thursday, “Monthly” or “Yearly” recurrence,

I have the same problem with the pro events calendar,after reading your post and after reading your post and the post of Geoff, I reviewed my plugins.I have installed a few plugins, plugins have been deactivating until you’ve found the failed.to my surprise this plugin worked well, I did not give me problems with the events calendar.But the best surprise is that after I returned to activate the plugin and now goes well, that is, when I give the link, to pass the following month, now if you load the month, not the spinning wheel is spinning.
The plugin that was in conflict is “WP-Spamshield” but as I say, I have off, I changed this month, and I have been reactivated, and now I work links to go to next month.

Si ayuda, pero aún asi no puedo activar el producto por que no me da la opción de introducir la licencia, es decir, debería de aparecer una caja donde introducir la “licencia” y esta no aparece
en la parte superior del escritorio de wordpress,sigue pidiendo que actualize events calendar PRO a la última versión
