Year filter

This may have been asked, but I couldn’t see it in the context which I need it. Our organization books events for our venue all year and a year in advance. I didn’t see a simple select ‘year’ feature, but rather the user has to flip through the left and right months to get to next year. Not practical when they say it’s June 2015 and they need to reserve day in December 2016. Is this an admin option or easy Haddon?
I see simpler calendar/booking plugins with this. Is this an oversight or hidden feature?

This is possible but would need a bit of custom code. You can check this post and also this one, to have an idea of what level of customization this requires.
