Hello! We have previously inquired about using WP All Import; we have it semi-working with a few hiccups.

I was getting an update for WP All Import and noticed that they are now offering to make official add-ons for WP All Import that let it work with any plug-ins or themes. It sounds like it’s free!

As the developer of The Events Calendar, to get an official Events Calendar plugin for All Import, it sounds like you just have to reach out to get the process rolling:

    http://www.wpallimport.com/add-ons/ (at the bottom)

We Build It, You Bundle It
Don’t have the time to build an Add-On? We’ll make one for you.
    For free. Really.
    Too Good To Be True

We want as many people as possible to use WP All Import. While we are throwing some Pro features in to the Add-Ons for free, there are still a couple great reasons for users to upgrade to WP All Import Pro.

We also get support requests from users who run in to issues importing data into plugins and themes that use custom data structures, like storing serialized arrays in custom fields or using custom image galleries. With the Rapid Add-On API it’s cheaper for us to write an Add-On to solve these issues than it is to explain to people how to import this data. It’s also a much better experience for users.

These Add-Ons are great for us because we get to expand our user base and lower support costs. They’re great for you because your users get an easy way to import data in to their site and keep it up to date. And you won’t have to provide customer support for importing data ever again.

    The Fine Print

This offer is for developers who have created publicly available themes or plugins. This is not for people who need help with a specific website or with a theme that you are using (or bought). If you contact us about making an Add-On for your plugin or theme there is, of course, no guarantee that we’ll agree to make it.

Every Add-On we make will be available for free on the WordPress Plugin Repository. Premium Support will be offered to Pro users through our support email address. Non-Pro users will be offered support via the Add-On’s support page on the WordPress Plugin Repository. We generally answer these support requests within a few days and we do our best to take care of everyone. However, we prioritize support to Pro users whose support requests we respond to as fast as possible.

This would add a lot of satisfaction with Events Calendar for us. It doesn’t compete with the Events Aggregator since this is for importing your own data from a csv hourly, not aggregating other sites. We would love it if you could get an official importer worked out with WP All Import!

Good evening Chris and welcome back!

Thank you for reaching out to us and bringing this to our attention.

The first thing I am going to do is to run this by our awesome products team. I will report my findings.

In the meantime, what I can tell you is that historically, WP All Import Pro was required to be able to import the Events Calendar events via CSV.

Since Events are merely a custom post type, that was a pretty straightforward experience.

Now that things are changing on the WP All Import front, the idea of having a dedicated extension seems totally sound.

Let’s see what the team has to say.

    Have a great day!

    Good evening Chris,

As promised, I followed up with the Products team.
The short answer is that we will not be adding such an extension ourselves.

The main reasoning behind that is that our Event Aggregator service is bound to evolve over time and we do not want to be fostering any potential competition.

I wish I had a better answer for you, but for now it’s the best one I have unfortunately.

    Best regards,

    Geoff B.

Hey there! This thread has been pretty quiet for the last three weeks, so we’re going to go ahead and close it to avoid confusion with other topics. If you’re still looking for help with this, please do open a new thread, reference this one and we’d be more than happy to continue the conversation over there.

    Thanks so much!
