WordPress-Created Events Switching Timezones

Hi,

I wrote in a few weeks ago about WordPress-created events appearing on Eventbrite in the wrong time zone (Alaska Standard Time rather than Pacific Standard Time). Switching the timezone settings in our WordPress settings (from Los Angeles to UTC-8 and back to Los Angeles) seemed to resolve this issue. However, we’re still having a problem with time zones spontaneously switching from PST to AKST in events on Eventbrite.

Currently, events we create in WordPress appear in Eventbrite with the correct time zone, PST. However, the timezone sometimes changes from Pacific to Alaska ST –in Eventbrite only– independent of us updating the event either in WordPress or on Eventbrite. Seemingly spontaneously?

This upcoming event was displaying the correct time yesterday, but was switched to AKST this morning. (We’ve switched it back to PST manually to avoid confusion.)

We aren’t sure if this is a Modern Tribe issue, but we haven’t noticed this occurring with the events we created on Eventbrite, only WordPress-created events.

Thanks for reaching out to us!

To clarify, when events are originally sent to Eventbrite, they get transferred with the correct timezone. Then, spontaneously and without doing any update to the event within WordPress, the event within Eventbrite gets a different timezone.

As an initial step, when creating the event are you making any changes to the “Timezone” setting for the individual event? https://cloudup.com/cS4zwv_9XVq
