ParticipantHi,
As background, I am using Events Calendar Pro with Events Calendar:Community Events. I’m using the Caroline theme from Web Savvy Marketing which uses Buddypress and bbpress. And when users create a profile for my site, they are automatically assigned a WordPress role of Subscriber and a Forum role of Participant so that they have the ability to post comments without the ability to do so anonymously.
When a user is logged in and they want to add a new event from the “Events” in the top black “admin” bar, they have the following options:
Events >
- View Calendar
- Add Event
- Edit Events
- Community: Submit Event
- Community: My Events
If they submit an event through the “Community: Submit Event” option, the event populates within the calendar without needing to be approved which is what I want to have happen.
If they submit an event through “Add Event”, the event only displays a “Submit for Review” button and is “pending” until an Admin can approve it which is what I do not want to have happen.
Is there a way to fix this without giving the users the ability to edit posts or have access to anything other than a locked down version of the dashboard?
Thanks!

MemberHi Jason. Thanks for your detailed question.
All events submitted via Community Events form should be moderated according to the “Default status for submitted events” option in the plugin’s settings.
Also, there’s an “Access Control” section of the plugin’s settings to help you block access to the wp-admin Dashboard if you decide to.
These are all the settings available from our plugin. If you’re wanting events to be modified in a different way depending on how they get to the Community Events form (via Admin Bar or otherwise), that’d be a customization that we wouldn’t provide code or support for.
If maybe I’m misunderstanding your issue, please explain the bug (instead of me thinking you’re asking about custom functionality).
