Hi,

I have some use cases and am wondering what combination of plugins to get:

Case 1) A series of events, which need to be purchased and ticketed independently. E.g. If you attend one event, you pay $40, if you attend two events, $80, etc. Acceptable workaround for me: Just define them as independent non-recurring events.

Case 2) An 8-week class which meets weekly. This needs to be purchased as a group. However, it would be nice to show all 8 events on the calendar. Acceptable workaround: Just define the starting class as one event, and have the details of the other events listed in the calendar.

Case 3) A free event to which existing customers are invited by email. It would be nice to have them be able to easily register so that we get a headcount. Is it possible to embed RSVP buttons into the email to make it more likely that they would RSVP?

Hi Kevin, thanks for considering our plugins. It sounds like any one of our ticketing plugins (we have ones that integrate with Shopp, WP E-Commerce, WooCommerce and Easy Digital Downloads) would suit here – in which case you would need The Events Calendar, which is free, the appropriate ticketing plugin and the relevant e-commerce engine according to your preferences on that front.

Defining them as independent non-recurring events is probably the best course of action at this time.

Yes – that’s exactly the sort of workaround that would work here as tickets that provide access to a series of events in the manner you described is not something that is directly supported.

If you did need recurrence for this event (do not recurring events would also mean purchasing Events Calendar PRO) then you can actually set up a ticket or tickets and they will be available for each recurring instance – and they will all share inventory, etc. However, this is really a side effect of our current implementation and so though it would probably work well in the use case you described it is not something you could depend upon long term.

Hmm, well definitely possible – again not directly supported by our ticketing addons and very much something you would need to drive forward as a customization of your own.

    Does that answer your questions?
