GuestI have not installed WooTickets jet, but from what I have seen on the video tutorials, WooTickets does not allowe to create an Event as a “Product” in itself but what it actually creates is link to Woocommerce. The problem with this approach is that you are not able to take advantage of some of the features from Woocommerce Products, like related products, products shop view, sliders, attributes, and so on…
So why not just integrate Event Calendar’s WooTickets completely in Woocommerce and so allow to put the description of the event in the new product editor?
With the current WooTickets approach I really don’t know what strategy to follow with WooTickets & Woocommerce. I want to create an Event website to promote events for events organizers together with buddypress and bbPress…
So any idea of what would be the right strategy on WooTickets & Woocommerce Products or do you have any future plans on a tighter integration?
Thanks

MemberHi Mario,
Sorry about the confusion. The tickets in WooTickets are actually created as Products within WooCommerce, all within the product category of Tickets. Here’s a screenshot from my demo site: http://d.pr/i/sT4k
I’m not positive what is possible with the WooCommerce options, but you should be able to use many if not all of the same functions with these products. Our plugin really works on top of the existing WooCommerce framework, and integrates it with The Events Calendar. The rest is on the WooCommerce side.
Does that answer your questions? Hopefully that will help you decide if WooTickets is right for you. You can also get in touch with the Woo support team- they are very helpful and will be the best resource for any of the special WooCommerce features.

GuestHi Leah,
To concrete the question, if I create a product with WooTicket, I write the text and photos or graphics of the Event in The Event Calendar, which appears in The Event Calendar site, so How do I do to for instance to show related Events or create an automatic Slide Show in the home page with the featured events from Woocommerce plugins… when the Event description is in The Event Calendar?

MemberHi Mario,
That would be a question for the Woo Support team, I’m afraid. Our events are custom post types, and I don’t know how their plugins interact with CPTs. WooTickets only integrates the basics of WooCommerce with Events Calendar, so any further integration may require customization. I recommend you get in touch with the folks at Woo for further help.
