WooCommerce Tickets – Guest Details (Dietary Requirements, etc.)

Does the WooCommerce Tickets Plugin allow for the addition of custom fields, such as “Dietary Requirements” or “Access Requirements” for events?

Planning to utilise this plugin to allow for the selling of tickets for conferences, and this information, for catered events, or for events where wheelchair access/capacity may be an issue is extremely important.

Can this be done with WooCommerce Tickets? I know WooCommerce can accept “Order Comments”, but having this data associated with a specific ticket/guest would be so much more valuable.

Also, does WooCommerce Tickets allow for individual tickets to have different guest names? I realise that the purchase may be made under “John Citizen”, but having the names of “Jane Citizen” and “June Citizen” associated with each of the three tickets individually would, again, make check-in (and the production of nametags, etc.) insanely better!

Hey there, Luke! Thanks so much for getting in touch–I’m stoked you’re looking into WooCommerce Tickets. 🙂

Man, not only are these excellent questions, but they’re awesome features as well. While custom fields and individual names for tickets isn’t available at the moment, we are indeed working on them as we speak. While I don’t have a concrete date for when it will be released, I see that testing started in late May. Definitely keep you eyes open for it to come around.

Thank you for your response – it does answer my questions, unfortunately not in the way I wanted (my overly-optimistic hope was I’d be told “Yes – it can do that!”, but, I understand that nothing is perfect).

As I am evaluating the product for a project which is kicking off very soon, I guess I’ll have to try and hack/extend the plugin myself to suit my needs. Not a perfect outcome, but it is a benefit of plugins being in PHP – we can manipulate and adapt them as needed.

Any timeframes for the release of this functionality? Is it just the individual ticket names which is in the pipeline, how about custom fields, dietary requirements, etc.?

Hey Luke, thanks for following up! Yeah, I knew those probably weren’t answers you were hoping for. We are indeed working on a slew of updates to our ticketing framework (ticket names, meta information, etc.). I don’t have a timeframe, but adding your vote for those features in our UserVoice forum will keep you posted as updates are made.

I like your attitude on PHP and hope the plugins will extend well for you. While we’re limited on how much we can support custom development, feel free to post to the forums here if you bump into any specific questions about how any functions work and we’d be happy to help as best we can. 🙂
