hi i cannot find if there is a post on the features for the upcoming release of woo ticket. i would like to know specifically is inventory at event level is supported as compared to the current ticket type level
I’m afraid not, Inventory levels will continue to be set at ticket level (you will not be able to “pool” inventory for an event between all of its tickets, in other words).
We still have this on our system as a proposed feature request – so it may make it into a future release – but I’m afraid it definitely isn’t going to be in WooTickets 2.0.

Since we are not expecting event-level inventory in ver 2, can point out where to make changes? I am thinking of storing both the overall ticket available and total tickets sold into two custom fields of the event, which part of the code should I look at which I could have access to the number of tickets customer bought (regardless of ticket type) and then add to event-level total tickets sold field?
I’m afraid I cannot point out where to make the changes – it’s not a trivial change to make and I’d encourage you to work with an experienced WordPress developer if you want to make this sort of customization (and, ideally, you would avoid direct changes to core plugin code).
