Wishes: Generate RSS & iCal feeds for calendar, fix timezones, open in new win

5 feature requests that could really improve an already excellent product:

1. Expand the calendar reach 1: Generate an RSS feed for the calendar so other sites can display it too, using an RSS widget. I think there’s a huge opportunity here for giving the calendar much better traction

2. Expand the calendar reach 2: Output an iCal feed, so Google Calendar users can subscribe to the calendar output. I’ve received numerous requests for this from users.

3. Keep visitors on site: Optionally allow external links to be opened in new windows rather than taking over the existing window (the current behavior drives visitors away from the calendar host site)

4. Improve timezones: Please support more cities + add support for timezone abbreviations such as CET, EST, PDT etc. Starting times are commonly listed with these abbreviations on event sites, but there’s no easy way of entering these in the calendar.

5. Make venues optional: How about making it possible to add country & city for an event (so the event can be found based on general location), _without_ creating a venue? More than often I’m setting up venues that I’ll never ever use again – making it more cumbersome to set up an event + I’ve added clutter with a venue that’ll only ever be used once.

Really hope these can make it into an upcoming version!
