I read the instructions for using a custom CSS for the widget, but I don’t understand it at all. So, I tried tagging an event with the tag “event” and using a Kopa Articles List widget to display all articles with the “event” tag. Then, I got this error:

Warning: array_shift() expects parameter 1 to be array, boolean given in /home3/mlfa/public_html/dev/wp-content/themes/musica/library/includes/widgets.php on line 504

I need the Event widget to look exactly like the other two widgets on the home page, but I’m having a lot of trouble getting it to work.

I would prefer to use the Events Calendar Pro “Events List” widget, but I don’t know how to set it to use the same styling as the other widgets. I reviewed https://theeventscalendar.com/support/documentation/events-calendar-themers-guide/#customizingstyles but it’s not clear to me what, exactly, I need to do.

    mlfa,
Thanks for getting in touch! Can you try temporarily reverting to the default 2013 theme to see if this issue persists? I suspect that this is an issue with your theme, but just want to narrow it down a bit before troubleshooting further.

    Thanks! 🙂

The Kopa widgets aren’t available when I switch themes, but the problem persisted when I switch to the vanilla version of the Musica theme. So, I believe this means I need to figure out how to make the Tribe Events widget look like my other widgets. Any ideas?

I’m trying to follow the instructions to set a custom CSS, I cannot get it to work.

I uploaded the style.css from the theme as renamed widget-calendar.css in the tribe-events/pro/ directory of the website theme. Nothing changed. The widget is still not formatted like I need it to be.

    mlfa,
You’ll need to create a file named ‘tribe-events/pro/tribe-events-pro.css’ and apply your desired widget styling rules in there. Give that a shot and let me know if you have other questions. Thanks! 🙂

    No.

Sorry, I meant to type “No, it didn’t work.” I took the customized style.css from the child theme and placed it in the tribe-events/pro folder under child theme and the parent theme. It still doesn’t work.

    mlfa,
Unfortunately, due to our limited resources, we can’t provide specific styling support for third-party themes. While I wish I could say that the plugin seamlessly integrates with every theme out there, the reality is that custom themes have so many settings/options that it would be nearly impossible for us to account for all of those.

Can you verify that the Events Calendar list widget works correctly using the default 2013 theme?

I’m going to try CiviCRM, and if that works like we need it to, I would appreciate a refund.

    mlfa,
Sorry that we weren’t able to resolve your issue here! We do have a 30 day refund policy, which you can read more about here: https://theeventscalendar.com/faqs/do-you-offer-refunds/

    Thanks! 🙂

What is the specific CSS file that formats the widget. I might just edit it directly and chase it down every update 🙁

OK. I got something started, but knowing exactly which CSS file the plug-in uses for the widget would really really help (so I can pull all the variables and adjust them to make them look like the other widgets).

    mlfa,
If you look in pro/resources/tribe-events-pro-full.css and the-events-calendar/resources/tribe-events-full.css you’ll see all of the references to ‘.tribe-events-list-widget’ and ‘.tribe-events-adv-list-widget.’

    Hope that helps!
