Why no shortcodes?

It seems fairly difficult to show certain categories in the home page, for instance. Wouldn’t it be a nice service to you customers to provide a set of shortcodes, so we could achieve of goals faster and easier? I am certain that a shortcode pack would reduce the forumload with 50%. It seems like almost 50% of all questions are related to customization/viewing issues, that could be easily solved with shortcodes 🙂 ?

It is indeed a popular request though its not one that comes without its challenges. That said, please do feel free to add your voice to any existing feature requests or, if you have specific ideas of your own about what shortcodes you want to see, do create a new specific request of your own:
