Which WordPress user roles can import CSV?

I’m interested in using The Events Calendar for my site of events going on around town (Rochester, NY). Given how many events I’d be adding, it would be important to be able if my main account could import events. However, for security reasons, I’ve set it up to be an Editor role, and if I log in, I can’t import from CSV files. It appears this is reserved for Administrator/Super Administrator. It would make sense to permit this for all roles down to Author, since given the way imported events can’t be Drafts, Contributors couldn’t import.

Looking closer, it’s a valid argument that only Administrators can import and export per WordPress’s “Roles”. However, importing events is more like posting en masse rather than “importing” proper (as the complement to “exporting”) which is more for restoring or moving a site.

Thanks for using the Events Calendar.

You are correct that only Admins can import using the CSV.

We do not have a way to change by a filter you would have to edit the plugin to change that.

You could try using a plugin like Adminimize and User Role Editor to create a limited admin role that can use the csv importer.

That is about all we have to help with this, if you think that is something you would like as a feature I encourage you to visit our User Voice Page and either upvote an existing request or make a new request there.
