Which plugin is the most suitable

For a customer of mine I need to know which plugin I need to buy to meet their requirements. They want to be able to choose between different categories. They want to give visitors the opportunity to register for certain events. Furthermore, they want to export those who have registered to an Excel file. Is that possible?

Based on the requirements of your customer, it sounds like the following plugins and add-ons would be required:

2. Event Tickets (free): https://theeventscalendar.com/product/wordpress-events-calendar/
3. Event Tickets Plus (premium): https://theeventscalendar.com/product/wordpress-event-tickets-plus/

The only requirement that is not clear to me is “They want to be able to choose between different categories.”.

Do you mean that they want to be able to publish a calendar of just that category ? That they want to have a Category filter ? That there are categories as part of the Event settings ?
