Where to find the custom field names / Event importer

Hi there. Happy Sunday!

I’m trying to use a CSV import plugin with ECP. Looking through past forum discussions, I’ve found a short list of custom field names to map the CSV values to. Some of them (like _EventCost, _EventShowMap, _EventShowMapLink) work, while others (like _EventVenue) aren’t quite there yet. I’m sure it’s just a matter of finding the proper names to map to … and I saw a thread in the forum that mentions it’s easy to find in the database or the source code. But nothing I’ve seen yet seems to correspond to the names I know do work. Could you tell me where should I look in the code/database to find how I should properly call out the custom fields?

Also: I noticed in the add-on feature list that there was an Event Importer coming soon. Is that something that would solve my problem with trying to use a CSV to import my events? Would it be coming out with the Pro 3.0 release?

Hey momodern,

Most, if not all of the custom fields are stored in the postmeta table so you should be able to find what you’re looking for there. If there are specific custom fields you are needing to retrieve, let me know and I’ll try and help you track them down.

We are working on a CSV import plugin but there is no official ETA on this as of yet.

I’m trying to put together an import solution as well. momodern, did you get the import to work? Which plugin did you use?

I’ve wanted to find a WordPress developer to help me write a script based on some ideas I had about how it might work, but I have had a hard time communicating what I want. It seems like it would be pretty doable and I have a couple of example scripts … but I don’t think I could modify/implement them on my own and would really like to find someone to hire for the work. When I tried to hire a developer a few days ago, they directed me to Ultimate CSV importer, which works pretty well … but my layman’s knowledge isn’t sufficient enough to get all of the important fields to map properly. Is there a paid level of support I could access at Tribe to help me get this up and running? That would be pretty ideal, since you guys know the plugin backwards and forwards.
