ParticipantWhen I publish an event and have Facebook Social Publisher enabled two dead links are also published to facebook
http://deadaudio.com/venue/
http://deadaudio.com/organizer/
Is it possible to prevent those links from publishing to facebook? Every time I publish an event I have to delete those two items from facebook, otherwise I have dead links on my page.September 16, 2013 at 12:42 pm #66126cristiana
ParticipantHere is a screenshot of the links

ParticipantHi cristiana,
I’m unclear what you mean by “Facebook Social Publisher.” Were you were referring to our The Events Calendar: Facebook Events plugin? If by chance that’s incorrect and it’s another plugin, it might be possible that there’s a conflict between the two. Could you provide a link to it? And you could try deactivating it and seeing if that helps.

ParticipantOh, I realized I posted this in the wrong forum, this isn’t an importer related issue

ParticipantRegardless, I will explain further, I am using the Facebook plugin which publishes posts automatically to my Facebook page using what is called ‘Social Publisher’. When I use this every time I get those two dead links posted to my wall.
Is it possible to not publish the venue and organizer? I don’t use them and they just cause those issues with meHere is the image again, as dropbox seems to have eaten the other one

MemberHi Cristiana,
I’m still not absolutely clear if we’re talking about our Facebook Events plugin or some other third party plugin? If it’s the latter I’m afraid there may not be too much that we can do, here.
Can you clarify?
Thanks!

ParticipantThis is not the Facebook Events plugin, it is the official plugin from Facebook. I use it to publish my content to my facebook page. My issue is that when an event is published an organizer and venue are also published, and those go out as dead links to /organizer and /venue/ .
My question is can I stop the organizer and venues from being published ? I don’t use them in my site and they are just causing me problemsSeptember 19, 2013 at 5:41 pm #66900Barry
MemberHi Cristiana, it’s possible – but there could be numerous complications with such an approach and it’s not something where I feel we can put together and offer you a simple snippet to drop in to your functions.php file (nor does it really sound like it’s a bug with our plugin, as such).
I think to resolve this to your satisfaction you realistically would need to engage in some custom development work, whether you spearhead that yourself or work with a suitable developer.
Sorry we can’t offer more on this occasion.
