When I switch to default page template my calendar breaks

When I switch to my default page view – content | sidebar – my calendar breaks and shows a basic page. How do I fix that?

Note: the calendar works great using “default calendar template” – no sidebar.

Unfortunately, we don’t have much control over the Default Page Template layout, as much of that relies upon your theme.
