Hi, I’m not sure if it’s related, but I recently added the Disqus plugin, disabled it, but the bug remains:

Yesterday I added this event: http://www.hackagenda.com.br/eventos/mapping-party-salvador/ and it was working fine.

Today, when I enter this URL: http://www.hackagenda.com.br/eventos/mapping-party-salvador/

I see a Google Map (it wasn’t displaying yesterday IIRC), and I can’t see the whole text that I’d added, so when I click “Encontre mais ยป” the AJAX loading image keeps loading and loading non-stop.

Any ideas on what’s causing this issue?

    Hey there,

Sorry to hear you are having an issue with this event.

First of all have you tried disabling all other plugins and also reverting your theme to a default theme? I think if we could rule out some of the potential compatibility issues we may be able to dig a little deeper for you.

As you mentioned you may be right this being an AJAX issue as I too see the spinning wheel – but just to be sure maybe try reset your permalinks and see if that helps – its a long shot but sometimes these link issues work themselves out with a permalings refresh.

If none of those items help let us know and we can take it from there.

Disabled all plugins, except Events Calendar + Events Calendar Pro, using Default theme, but the problem remained: http://d.pr/i/giSj

    Hey –

Thanks for confirming all of that. I do see this issue only happening to this one event so far. Can you confirm that it hasn’t occurred on any other events since you first reported this?

I’m going to get a developer to look at this also – but in the mean time could you try disabling the map view for a quick test and see what happens? You can do that in settings under the display tab. ย (screenshot:ย http://d.pr/i/Joz4)

I disabled maps and now it says the page couldn’t be found: http://d.pr/i/ZwzI

Now I have to reactivate it so it can be seen, altough incompletely.

All the other events were being displayed normally, and they were still displaying Google Maps, despite Maps being disabled.

    Hey!

Sorry that your event has passed and that we didn’t figure it out in time – but I think we may have it solved – just to confirm (and make sure this doesn’t occur again) can you tell me what your values for “Events URL slug” and “Single event URL slug” are?

For your reference this is what ours look like: http://d.pr/i/d9IP

Yes, I had changed that. I changed both to ‘eventos’ which is Portuguese for events: http://d.pr/i/auB5

Oops, I just read that the first one needs to be plural and the last one singular. My bad. :/

I fixed this, but it turns out that all my events could not be found after I changed it correctly.

Is there any quickfix for this?

Now you should be able to visit the Permalinks page and refresh them and that should take care of that issue. Let me know if it doesn’t work

I changed back to “eventos/eventos” just because my website can’t have those events. ๐Ÿ™‚

    Waiting for a reply/hot fix.

Hi memco – when you changed the slugs – can you confirm that you also refreshed the permalinks – by visiting this page: Setting -> permalinks: http://d.pr/i/xnrH

I just changed it back again and refreshed it, it works now! Thank you, Neil! ๐Ÿ™‚
