GuestHi I want to build this schedule using a calendar our students can sync to download get notifications when classes change etc. our schedule usually changes in the summer then changes again in the fall.
We need to be able to add in testing and when the studio is closed for the holidays…can your calendar do this? Here is a link to our schedule but I am building a new WordPress site for this.
http://omegautah.com/springville/schedule/
Also I want to have the days upcoming classes showing on the main school page. And on each programs page I want to upcoming/next scheduled classes showing on their corresponding pages. I assume I can do this by adding the widgets to the page and filter what is shoog by the category and location, correct?
These are key things I want the calendar to do before we purchase. Please let me know if it can and how I should customize the calendar in order I do it.
Thank you!January 2, 2017 at 6:35 pm #1212398Caroline
MemberHi Kim,
Thanks for stopping by–we’re thrilled to hear that you’re considering our plugins for your site remake! 🙂
It sounds like what you’re hoping to do with a calendar setup should be easily achieved using the tools available in Events Calendar PRO. Our recurring event functionality is great for events like yours that repeat on given days of the week, and you can set date ranges so repeating events will terminate at a specified point (such as the end of the season). You can read more about recurring events and how they work on our Knowledgebase here!
Since widgets occupy a given content area that’s usually the same from page to page, they’re great for providing a quick look at the upcoming week or month–you can easily highlight the next few scheduled events and have that information easily accessible on any site page. For areas where you need to show upcoming events filtered by category, I’d suggest taking a look at our various shortcode options, which can be added to any page or post on your site and tailored to your preferences.
I hope that helps to get you started! Thanks again, and let me know if you should have any other questions!

KeymasterHey there! This thread has been pretty quiet for the last three weeks, so we’re going to go ahead and close it to avoid confusion with other topics. If you’re still looking for help with this, please do open a new thread, reference this one and we’d be more than happy to continue the conversation over there.
Thanks so much!
