ParticipantHi,
The website language is Italian, but the weekdays in the calendar are in english, as you can see here: http://www.tipicoascoli.it/eventi/

The template is Avada

ParticipantI read that it can be a problem with polylang plugin, I have it installed on my website. Can it be resolved?

MemberHi Marco,
Thank you for reaching out to us.
You are absolutely right, unfortunately at this point, the Events Calendar does not support Polylang.
It might work partially, but not fully. You can vote for that feature by submitting it here.
As an alternative, you should know that we do offer support for WPML as a multilingual solution for the Events calendar.
I wish I had better news, but this is the best answer available at the current time.
Let me know if there is anything else I can help you with.
Have a great evening!

ParticipantThank you for the reply. Is there a way to force to display the weekdays in a language that it’s not english? I mean, right now the weekdays are displayed in english, even if the selected language of the website is italian or french. Is it possible to set italian as default language, also displaying weekdays in italian, regardless of the selected language?
Thanks

MemberGood evening Marco,
That is a great question.
There are language files (po/mo) for each language.
So normally, the language of the weekdays should follow the language of your WordPress install. The lang parameter located in the <html> tag at the top of your page will establish which language file is used.
Currently, you will notice that it is set to lang=”en-GB”, which explains why the weekdays are being displayed in English.I am wondering if the Avada theme or the Polylang plugin is not forcing the language parameter to be English (overriding the language parameter of your WordPress install).
You could easily test this by reverting to a default WordPress theme such as Twenty-fifteen and by disabling the Polylang plugin and see if the WordPress language kicks in to your liking.Either way, as stated earlier, the fastest solution for multilingual support would be to replace Polylang by WPML.
Is there any thing else I can help you with ?
Have a wonderful night.

ParticipantWell, you are right, it is the polylang plugin that forces the language parameter to english. If I disable it, the weekdays are showed in italian! I’ll see what I can do, thanks!

MemberGood evening Marco,
I am glad that you figured the cause for the lang parameter being forced to english.
I will close this topic for now, but please don’t hesitate to contact us again if you have any questions.
