Guesthello, I wonder if your plugin would be all I would need for an arts alliance site.
I need a page showing all the members (non-profit art groups): listing view and logo/graphic view with links to profile
Link from their profile to their events
Overall events calendar for all members
I would like them to have access to self publish their events.
Are there examples of users doing this?
thank you, NancyDecember 17, 2014 at 8:15 am #921188Geoff
MemberHi there, Nancy! Thanks for reaching out and for checking out the plugins–we appreciate it. π
I think you have a couple of options here. I’ll cover them both and we can see if one fits better than the other.
1) The Events Calendar + The Events Calendar PRO
These two plugins technically cover everything you need. The Events Calendar is our free plugin that provides the core functionality for publishing events to a calendar on your site.
The Events Calendar PRO adds some more advanced features to the free version. One of those features is the ability to add Organizers to your events, including their names and contact information. In addition, PRO will automatically create pages for each of your Organizers that displays their information as well as the Events that are associated with them. It’s pretty sweet.
From there, you can create WordPress accounts for your members and allow them to publish events to the calendar, listing themselves as the organizer of the events they publish.
2) The Events Calendar + The Events Calendar PRO + Community Events
If you prefer to take the first option one step further and want to allow your members to publish events from the front end of your website, I think it’s worth looking into Community Events. This allows members to publish events directly from your website and see a list of all the events they have published. You also have control to approve all events before they are published, if you want. Lastly, you can control whether someone needs to be logged into the site or not in order to submit an event.

While we do have the ability to create Organizers and associate them with Events posts, there is currently no way to display all organizers in one place right out of the box. However, you could create a custom page on your site that uses theΒ tribe_get_organizer() function to output all organizers. Check out our full documentation for more details on other variables you have for customizing the plugins.
One more thing: we do offer a full refund on all products within 30 days of purchase. That would give you time to test the plugins out and see if they’re a fit for what you’re looking for.
Does this help answer your questions? Please let me know. π
Cheers!
