Way to filter events based on category

I have a client who needs a filterable calendar. Let’s say Category 1 is “Sport” with sub-categories baseball, basketball and volleyball. Category 2 is “Level” with sub-categories beginner, moderate, and advanced. They’d like for the user to be able to filter events, for instance, to show only events tagged “beginner” and “volleyball”.

Has anyone been able to achieve this? Is there a plugin that would play nice and provide this ability?

Ive added a custom menu to a site using the category url to filter events in certain categories.

For example : http://www.url.co.uk/events/category/sport/

events is the slug you have set in the ECP settings.
