ParticipantSince I updated to WordPress 3.9, the Visual Content Composer is no longer working correctly. When I go to edit inside a content block, the text is buried in codes. I think I found instructions here, but want to make they’re correct. http://wordpress.org/support/topic/visual-editor-not-working-after-upgrade-to-39-40
Is this how I fix the problem? Thanks!

MemberHi!
Thanks for reaching out to us. It does look like that thread would be the correct place to look for resolving your issue. Beyond some basic guidelines for troubleshooting we won’t be able to help support this issue as it is a WordPress upgrade issue and not with the plugins.
To see where the conflict is I would do the following.
- Switch your theme to 2010 or 2012.
- Deactivate all plugins
- Check if issue is resolved.
- If resolved turn back on your theme and plugins untill the issue re-appears this will tell you which plugin is having a conflict.
Also make sure that you are using the most recent version of our Events Calendar plugins as well. Please let me know if this helps you resolve your issue.

ParticipantThanks Matt.
I tried your suggestions, but I am still having the problem. I deactivated all of the plug-ins and updated the themes, but the visual content composer still wasn’t working well.Is there anyway I can get a more clear step-by-step for this issue? Can I speak to anyone on the phone or is the there a video you can send me that show how each step should be done, so I can make sure I’m doing it right.

MemberHi Rob:
Sorry the above didn’t help with your issue. To confirm the issue you are facing is that when you are editing a Page/Post the visual editor no longer is working? Is this correct? Can you send me a screenshot of your issue just to confirm we are on the same page?
If the Visual Editor is not working than it does look like a plugin conflict. That is why I outlined above to switch your site to the TwentyTwelve or a default WP theme and deactivate plugins. If the issue doesn’t appear in this state that means that WordPress is functioning as expected. If however you are still experiencing the issue you might have to re-install version 3.9 via the update page in the admin.
If the visual editor is working again at this point you should re-activate themes and plugins one at a time and check after each if the issue re-appears. If it does re-appear than you will know if it is the theme or a plug-in that is causing the issue.
I would also suggest that you update to the latest 3.6.1 versions of our plugins.
Please let me know if the above helps to identify the culprit.

ParticipantUnfortunately, I can’t send a screenshot through the comment box. Or at least can’t figure out how to. But yes, we are on the same page. The text that is in content blocks is not displaying correctly.
I will try your suggestion again. I probably didn’t do something correctly the first time. I will let you know if I’m still having problems. Thanks!

ParticipantI don’t think I understand how to change the Theme from 2010 to 2012. Can you explain to me how to do that?

MemberHi, sorry for delayed response.
You can change your website’s Theme using the WordPress Admin. Log-in than go to “Appearance” > “Themes”. From this screen you can download new themes from WordPress.org and activate themes.
Thank you,
– Matthew

ParticipantWhen I changed the theme, it completed changed the layout of the whole site. So that option doesn’t work. Is there a way to speak to someone on the phone about this. Or do you have other suggestions? Many thanks!

MemberHi:
I understand your frustration. At this time I am trying to identify if the issue you are facing with our plugin or with another theme/plugin you have installed on your site. If by changing the theme the issue is fixed that means The Events Calendar is not causing the issue. And instead you will need to follow-up on your theme or other plugins to resolve the issue.
Can you confirm if when you change themes / disable all plugins that the issue is resolved? If so re-enable your themes and plugins 1 at a time and after each re-check if the issue appears. This will tell you what theme/plugin is responsible for the issue.
Thank you,
– Matthew

ParticipantThanks for the reply. I’m pretty sure it’s a problem with the theme. I am trying to contact CMS Masters now.
And yes, I have changed the theme and disabled all of the plug-ins, and that did not fix the problem.
