ParticipantHi,
I just noticed that the view ticket link in events where you have tickets is not working. It redirects to front page. This is the case for all customers not for admin. Everything works fine for admin.
However this is creating massive problems for me, as i am using this method in other places as well.
This feature comes from Event Tickets Plus Extension: Show and Print Tickets
thanks

MemberHi, Ilkka.
If your event is yoursite.com/event/abc-123/, then are you saying the “View your Tickets” link that goes to yoursite.com/event/abc-123/tickets/ is not working?
Or are you saying that once there (at that /tickets/ URL), that the extension’s view ticket link is not working?

ParticipantHi,
I am saying that the view ticket link is not working for customers. For example if i try to view following link https://www.domain.com/?tribe_view_ticket_order=4951 it redirects to front page when using woocommerce customer profile or subscriber profile. If i view the link in admin profile in works just fine. And also more problematic for me that this is the case for some customers but not all. I really do not realize what is going on.
So i am guessing that It must have something to do with privileges? What privileges are needed to view the ticket? Customers have read rights.
Anyway, hope you understand my case better now and have some solutions.
Thanks for your answer.

MemberGotcha. Thanks for clarifying.
I’m personally writing this extension’s replacement, which is going to be called PDF Tickets extension.
The PDFs will be saved to your server in the Uploads folder and actual PDF files will attach to ticket emails. The user’s “View your tickets” page (for each event they’re attending) will have the PDF Ticket link if they lost their email.
In other words, there won’t be any more of these view ticket links that require checking credentials. Basically, anyone with the PDF link (in the proper format — it’s not a simple “ticket_1234.pdf” file name) will be able to view/download it.
If all this sounds good to you, I’d guess it’ll be released this or next week.
I’ll mark this ticket as Pending Fix, which means this thread should receive a reply once this new extension has been released.
I apologize for this issue and appreciate your understanding and patience.

ParticipantHi, Ok. Is it going to be a different extension or will it be replacing this “Event Tickets Plus Extension: Show and Print Tickets”? At least for me the DK pdf extension is writing very ugly looking PDF’s. Maybe i have to be looking how to use a different stylesheet for DK pdf extension to get the results better.
Thanks

MemberIt’ll be a separate extension and we’ll retire that existing one.
The DK PDF plugin will not be required any longer either.

ParticipantHi,
Couple of questions more. Are the ticket emails still coming as html to customers? Because we are using the tickets as digital licenses. So after check in the ticket receives a checked in label. So we know that the check in has been made. If there will be no html format for tickets our idea of using digital tickets is kind of destroyed. Can the tickets still be viewed in html format or is the pdf going to be the only format for tickets.
Please do not do this. We still need tickets that can be changed on after check in. And we are heavily marketing the use of digital tickets, not pdf. Pdf is good back up for showing that you have bought a license but not the format for digital use.
Thanks for your answer.

ParticipantHi,
So my question would be is the customer still able to view to the ticket link if provided. We have a built a ticket history for our customers where they can see all their tickets and view the tickets as html. I am just afraid that this is no longer possible.
thanks.

MemberNot to worry. The HTML of the email will come through. It’s just that the HTML of the email will also be converted to a PDF and then that PDF will accompany the same HTML ticket email as normal.
As far as the
[tribe-user-event-confirmations]shortcode (or some other method of displaying a logged-in user’s registrations) goes, the link will still be there but instead of viewing an HTML view of the ticket, it’ll be a PDF file that the browser displays according to their browser’s PDF settings (e.g. Adobe Reader plugin or browser native viewer). The to-be-retired View and Print Tickets Extension will no longer be updated. Once the PDF Tickets Extension is released, I’ll answer any follow-up questions you may have. Any more than what I’ve said is premature.
Thanks for sharing your feedback. I hope PDF Tickets will suit your needs well.
