    Hello!

I’m using [tribe_events] to display a monthly calendar of events on a private page. If there is a particular day that has more events than can be displayed, a “View all # Events” link is displayed. So far so good!

    Now the problems:

    1) If I click the “view all” link for the current month, it takes me to http://myurl/cal/YYYY-MM–DD/
    — I believe this is wrong as it takes me away from the page where [tribe_events] shortcode is embedded, but at least it works.

    2) If I navigate one month ahead and click “view all” for a day with too many events, it takes me to http://myurl/private-page/?date=2017-12-07&tribe_event_display=day
    — This simply does not work. It switches into “day” view but the date is incorrect. It’s almost as if it’s not even reading the date and instead just using today’s date. In my example above I chose to see all events for December 7 2017 and the message on screen is “No events scheduled for November 20, 2017. Please try another day.”

    Possible resolution?:

I was able to get the correct page to display (and stay embedded) by manually adjusting the URL’s date parameter to use “tribe-bar-date” instead of “date”: http://myurl/private-page/?tribe-bar-date=YYYY-MM-DD&tribe_event_display=day

    Regards,
    Marco

    Hello Marco,

Thanks for reaching out and sharing your thoughts.

    1. Actually that is right. Clicking on “show all events” should take you to the list view of that day. The same happens from the default calendar page.

    2. I tested this with the same result. This looks like a bug. I will ticket it so our devs can take a look.

Is there anything else I can help you with?

    Cheers,
    Andras

    Hello,

    1. How could I put in a suggestion to have this changed? Conceptually I still believe this is wrong and not as intended: When using a shortcode to embed the calendar somewhere, I believe the user experience shouldn’t change from where it was embedded and if it does, it somewhat negates the point of using the shortcode.

    2. Great! Thank you. Is there a public bug list that you could send me the link for this particular item so I can track it?

    Regards,
    Marco

    Hi Marco,

If you would like to put in a suggestion you are welcome to do that on our UserVoice page which we have for exactly that reason.

We don’t have a public buglist I could share with you. I am going to set the status of this ticket to “pending fix” and we will update it once the fix is released, so if you have email notifications set for this thread, then you’ll get an email about it.

Also please feel free to ping me in this thread any time if you’d like to have an update. Since the bug was filed yesterday there is no movement on it yet.

If you have any new questions or different issues please create a new ticket to keep things clean in the forums, and we’ll help you out.

    Thanks and cheers,
    Andras

    Hey,

Just wanted to inform you that a developer reviewed your report alongside a quality assurance team member. Neither of them could reproduce the issue. hence the report was declined.

Please update the plugins and re-check if this is still an issue,
Thanks for the patience and once again for reporting this,
    Best,
    Nico

Hey there! This thread has been pretty quiet for the last three weeks, so we’re going to go ahead and close it to avoid confusion with other topics. If you’re still looking for help with this, please do open a new thread, reference this one and we’d be more than happy to continue the conversation over there.

    Thanks so much!
