I believe you’re referring to the back end when viewing your Events list, correct? If so, you should see an option above the list of Events (see screenshot below). Try selecting “All” and see if you’re able to see everyone’s events.

The ability to filter by different categories in the back-end has been converted into a separate plugin, you can read more about that here. As for the issue displaying limited events – do you have this same restriction when viewing Pages or Posts?
