Very Long Wait Time for "X-TEC-API-ROOT"

    Dear Events Calendar Team,

    I’m experiencing inconsistencies in the load time of my site when I activate Events Calendar and Events Calendar Pro. Without the plugin my start page pretty much always loads in under 1 second (measured by pingdom from the Sweden server). With the plugin the load times are very erratic ranging from 2 up to 10 seconds. When the load times are very long, I can always see a long “wait” time related to the following request:

    X-TEC-API-ROOT “MY-DOMAIN”/wp-json/tribe/events/v1/

    See also the screenshot from pingdom below in which the wait time for this is 6 seconds. Any idea why this request takes so long? The performance of my hosting seems to be fine since everything else loads quite fast.

    The site isn’t live yet so I’d prefer not to share the URL publicly.

    Hi Patricia,

    many thanks for your reply and your research. I have now identified that the problem occurs in relation with some settings of my W3 Total Cache plugin. Whenever I purge the cache the first loading of the site is very slow 5-10 seconds. It’s also equally slow if there are no requests to the site for a certain amount of time (approx 1h – which happens often now as the site isn’t public yet). Anyways, it seems as though it is not directly related to the plugin, so I’ll keep digging my way through the W3 caching options to find the setting /combination of settings that are causing the problem.
