ParticipantIn the backend when you’re about to write a Venue name when adding a new event, it shows a list of already added venues and you can choose from them. This is not going to work if theres a lot of venues on that list, its gonna make the event post page very slow. Is there a way to delete the venue autocomplete list and instead just be able to write the venue name anyway and if it exists then it will still register it like it normally does. All this without messing with plugin folders? Is the same possible with organizer list ?

MemberHello Alex, you’d definitely need to change some code. For that type of customization I’d have to refer you to our documentation page: https://theeventscalendar.com/support/documentation
Let me know if you find something there that would work for you to get that fixed for your case. The plugin is really built to suit a larger audience of users, so in these one off cases where it may not work for one site, it becomes a customization request, which we can’t always support, unless it’s a really easy fix.
If you can’t find anything on the documentation page and aren’t able to figure out something by trying some code let me know and I’ll try to get a dev team member involved. No guarantees they’d be available though 🙁
Thanks!

ParticipantYea if anyone has 500+ venues their backend will crash 🙁
http://i.minus.com/iNpLRutYuyz44.png
The blue is what Im trying to accomplish so that the 500 venues dont even load at all anywhere (head and body)
The green is what slows and crashes the backend even on the Events Posts Page where all the posts are at because the filters load up the venues and organizers as well.
This is a problem if anyone has many venues + organizers.
There has to be a way without messing with the core plugin files.
Its been more than a month and tried my best … if you guys have any ideas ? Already read Documentation thanksAugust 22, 2012 at 12:02 am #23926Joyce Grace
MemberHello Alex,
Sorry we haven’t been able to help you out so far. We have logged this in our back end system and developers have been looking at a solution. What I understand is that “the combo holds the venue ID. If you type it manually, you need to create somewhere that lookup to not have duplicated venues.” So there has to be code changes.
We are working on getting you an answer, or an update to our software soon. Sorry I can’t be specific about the timing, but just wanted to let you know we’re on it, even if things seem quiet on the forum here!
