Venue should not be a required field

Hello,

I am working with a French version of Events Calendar Pro so the terms I’m using in English might not be exactly what they actually are in the English version, but you should get the drift of what I’m saying regardless.

“Venue” appears to be a required field (it is “Lieu” in French). This is not working for me because I am using the calendar to list races (running, triathlons, bike races, obstacle races like Spartan, etc.). So, these events HAVE no venue, they’re meeting out on some street corner or parking lot somewhere. If I simply put nothing in the field, then it says “Salle non nommée” (something like “Venue not named” or “Venue not specified” in English). This looks bad and is superfluous information. How can I make it so that if you don’t name a venue, then it just says nothing? The address and city, province, and postal code are sufficient.

Hi – I’m sorry you are experiencing problems here. I’m not sure I can reproduce this, though. Starting with our regular troubleshooting steps is going to be worth a shot if you haven’t already done so (that is, deactivate all other plugins and switch to a default, unmodified theme – then see if the same thing still happens). That aside, I wonder if you have inadvertently populated some of the Default Content fields relating to venues (in the Default Content settings screen)?

Even if they appear to be blank, please double check to ensure they don’t contain whitespace.

Does that help/get us closer to finding out why this is happening?
