ParticipantCurrent situation
—————–
After upgrading The Events Calendar from 4.5.5 to 4.5.8 (and each subsequent update through 4.5.12) several things are not functioning when we create new events.1) We cannot set the Venue nor Organizer on new or existing events
2) When we click in the Start/End date fields we no longer get the interactive date pickerWe are using WordPress Multi-site.
Attempts to resolve
——————-
I tested with no plugins except MU Domain Mapping activated, and with Twenty fourteen theme and it did not work. Based on a posting on your site for this plugin I rolled back the plugin to 4.5.6 and all works properly. However I am concerned that I am no longer able to update this plugin. Here is what I see in the browser console on any event page

KeymasterHello Mark,
Thanks for going Pro and welcome to the forums!
I’m sorry about this issue with the venue and organizers.
We did have that issue previously, and has been fixed about 2 months ago in a maintenance release.
What I can think of is that multisite, or more specifically the MU Domain Mapping plugin might be conflicting with ours. Would it be possible for you to deactivate also MUDM and test this?
Cheers,

ParticipantI disabled that plugin and The Events Calendar admin issues I was experiencing were indeed resolved. But of all the plugins that I use, that one is core as it maps the publicly known URL to the underlying MU network site. Without this plugin my site does not exist to the world.
Some additional thoughts
– WP MU Domain Map was last updated 2/3/2015, so it has not changed recently
– The Events Calendar 4.5.6 works perfectly with this version of WP Mu Domain Map
– Perhaps newer versions of The Events Calendar have some javascript asset reference that has changed? And it can’t find this asset which causes the problem? As the WP MU Domain mapping plugin is a pretty widely used plugin with WP MU, I am hoping you have a known workaround for this issue.

KeymasterMark, I just found this piece of info:
“In WordPress 4.5+, domain mapping is a native feature.”
Source: https://codex.wordpress.org/WordPress_Multisite_Domain_Mapping
The investigation might take a couple days, so please hang in there.
The workaround for the moment is to downgrade to the last version of TEC (and the other calendar plugins) it was working with.

ParticipantThanks for investigating Andras.
I have created a support ticket with MU Domain Mapping as well. If you find a fix within The Events Calendar that would be ideal. If not, I would appreciate any technical information to provide the authors of the Domain Mapping plugin so that they could fix their plugin if the error resides there.
Thanks,

ParticipantAndras our notes crossed. I reviewed your finding regarding not needing a domain mapping plugin anymore after WP 4.5+ and this is very promising. I am testing it on our staging server and it looks like this may be the solution. I will do some more testing and if it goes well, roll it out to our production server.
Thanks for your help, I will post updates.

ParticipantDeactivating the WP MU Domain Mapping plugin, and using WP inherent URL to site mapping ability resolved the issues with the admin pages of The Events Calendar.
Thanks for your research and help on this issue,
