Venue categories?

Our touring theater company takes 4 different shows to about 22 parks in and around Seattle. I’d like to be able to list venues by category. Either a separate category for venues, or to be able to use event categories for venue posts. I have seen several other posts in the forums about this subject, but haven’t seen much of a solution.

I tried the plugin for listing venues and organizers (https://theeventscalendar.com/knowledgebase/listing-venues-and-organizers/), but it is simply too basic, and just lists in random order all the venues. No option even for listing them alphabetical. We have some venues that only apply to specific shows, and I’d like to be able to list the venues, alphabetically, by some kind of category.

Is there any way to easily do that? I’m not really comfortable editing php.

I am happy to answer your questions. I am sorry to say there is no prebuilt/easy way to do that. It will require writing a decent amount of PHP and such to get exactly what you need. If you’re not comfortable doing that perhaps you have a programmer on hand who can? I could definitely assist with a general overview of what to do, but it will require a programmer and likely a few hours of their time to get this all working for your specific needs.
