ParticipantI just spent a very long time outlining the problem in another reply to this post, saved it, landed on the saved page as if everything was ok, but my reply is nowhere to be found. If it shows up here too, my apologies for a duplicate entry; I just can’t see it.
So let’s try this again.
I want to do exactly what Mat has described. Here’s an example of the current page we are moving to WordPress. http://www.animalreikisource.com/reiki-3-brighthaven
Question 1: Recurring Events
You can see multiple dates and multiple prices. I can see from your comment I need to buy Events Calendar Pro to get recurring events. Will those multiple events show up in a drop-down selection list to choose from or do they show up on the calendar as separate events? Or both?Question 2: Variable price options
I created an event and then clicked the link to edit in Woocommerce because there was no way to add variable price options in your plugin. I added the attributes and variations there. You can see the screenshot. But in live view, those variations are not showing, only the last one entered. http://animalreiki.bizabuzz.com/event/test-events-1/ To make matters worse, it says it’s FREE in two places, picking up on the fact that I didn’t add a price in the Events admin because I have multiple prices to be entered into Woocommerce.Question 3: Inventory count
Note also I have the option to track inventory unselected, yet in the live view, you can see the quantity of 20. That is because 20 is entered in the Events ticket admin.Question 4 (bug): Saving an event overwrites Woocommerce product
When I delete quantity 20 in the ticket admin, it erases all the changes I made in Woocommerce, specifically the attributes and variations. It appears to me that your Woocommerce integration is not ready for primetime or am I missing something? Will this do what I want and you claim it does, or am I out of luck?
Thanks.

ParticipantHUH??? I left this in reply to https://theeventscalendar.com/support/forums/topic/multiple-dates-with-time-and-variable-pricing/ yesterday. Today you closed that thread because you said it’s been pretty quiet (no responses). So apparently leaving a reply to a post doesn’t leave it there and you have no idea the discussion is still continuing like it is here. You might want to look into that. In the meantime, that discussion that was closed is alive and well here.
In that post George said, “Our ticketing plugins, Event Tickets and Event Tickets Plus, do offer the ability to have different ticket prices.” But in another thread I found, your team said you don’t do price options.
So which is? Was George referring to something else?

MemberHello again Kathleen,
Apparently this one got lost along the way. Our apologies.
Of course, I will answer all of your questions.
Question 1: Recurring Events
You can see multiple dates and multiple prices. I can see from your comment I need to buy Events Calendar Pro to get recurring events. Will those multiple events show up in a drop-down selection list to choose from or do they show up on the calendar as separate events? Or both?Recurring events show up as separate events in the different views.
They do not show in a drop-down selection in any view (at least for now and without customization).Question 2: Variable price options
I created an event and then clicked the link to edit in Woocommerce because there was no way to add variable price options in your plugin. I added the attributes and variations there. You can see the screenshot. But in live view, those variations are not showing, only the last one entered. http://animalreiki.bizabuzz.com/event/test-events-1/ To make matters worse, it says it’s FREE in two places, picking up on the fact that I didn’t add a price in the Events admin because I have multiple prices to be entered into Woocommerce. As stated before, our support of anything beyond simple virtual products is not officially supported.
You might be able to get it up and running, but it will definitely require customization.
As for the word “Free”, this is typically a sign that:
- There was a WooCommerce ticket with no cost added to the event
- There is an RSVP ticket present on that event.
In any case, we have several snippets to remove this, including: https://gist.github.com/GeoffEW/a63180206b4ebb3a1f30511228816652
Question 3: Inventory count
Note also I have the option to track inventory unselected, yet in the live view, you can see the quantity of 20. That is because 20 is entered in the Events ticket admin.I am not quite sure what your question is here. Would you care to expand or better yet, could you share some screenshots ?
Question 4 (bug): Saving an event overwrites Woocommerce product
When I delete quantity 20 in the ticket admin, it erases all the changes I made in Woocommerce, specifically the attributes and variations.Editing the ticket in the ticket admin does indeed modify the WooCommerce associated product.
Since that product HAS to be a simple virtual product by default, this is why it keeps deleting your variations.
In that post George said, “Our ticketing plugins, Event Tickets and Event Tickets Plus, do offer the ability to have different ticket prices.” But in another thread I found, your team said you don’t do price options.
So which is? Was George referring to something else?
It is a shame that your answer on that specific thread did not make the cut.
But, I will gladly answer this one for you.George was indeed talking about something else.
You can have different ticket prices, but not via a variable product.
This can be achieved by:
- Having several simple virtual products tickets on a single event (different ticket types)
- Using coupon codes or role-based discounts.
Have a great day!

ParticipantThanks so much for your long reply!
I’ll add clarification on some things here.Question 1 about recurring events: I wasn’t clear. I meant if you use the events pro with the calendar pro, and you click from the calendar to buy a ticket on a recurring calendar item, once you get to the page where you buy, will you see a select list of dates or just the one you clicked on in the calendar?
Question 2 was in regards to a problem I now see is because event tickets plus does not work with WC’s product variations.
Question 3 regarding inventory appears to be a problem with event ticket plus not fully integrated with Woocommerce. But that’s because I was in woocommerce to set up variations. I didn’t realize the settings in Woocommerce have no effect in the events plus settings. As long as people don’t be mistaken thinking they can edit products in Woocommerce, I’m guessing it all works fine.
Question 4 is again a problem because I was trying to use WC variations.
I see now that with events plus you simply have to ignore Woocommerce’s product editor because it can overwrite what you’re trying to do in Events. Is that a correct understanding?

MemberGood evening Kathleen,
Thank you for taking the time to write back.
Question 1 about recurring events: I wasn’t clear. I meant if you use the events pro with the calendar pro, and you click from the calendar to buy a ticket on a recurring calendar item, once you get to the page where you buy, will you see a select list of dates or just the one you clicked on in the calendar?
When you click on a recurring event. You are taken to that specific event’s single page.
From that page, you will also see that this is a recurring event and a link to see all the other dates from that recurring event series will be available.
However, by default, you do not see a list of dates (although it is possible to add that list in the single event view with a bit of customization).
But, more importantly, at the time of writing, selling tickets while using recurring events is fairly limited in functionality.
Although we are looking at adding complete support for selling tickets while using recurring events hopefully by the end of this year, for the moment, the only possibility is to have one set of tickets for the whole series of events.
In other words, every single event in that series will feature the exact same tickets (and ticket stock, if any).
I guess one way around that would be to have several tickets tied to that event series.
Question 2 was in regards to a problem I now see is because event tickets plus does not work with WC’s product variations.
That is correct. Technically that would not be impossible to do, but there is not built-in compatibility with WooCommerce’s product variations.
With that in mind, you are more than welcome to vote for that feature here: https://tribe.uservoice.com/forums/195723-feature-ideas/suggestions/6388546-support-woo-product-variations-within-wootickets
I see your point. I guess it would be safe to call this a very rigid type of integration with WooCommerce.
In other words, there are indeed some things you can do directly in WooCommerce (product visibility comes to mind).
But, to ensure proper functioning of things, those changes are highly limited (as you have found out).
Question 4 is again a problem because I was trying to use WC variations.
You are absolutely right. Other than that, you should indeed be able to modify stock (or to not track it), provided you use a simple virtual product.
I see now that with events plus you simply have to ignore Woocommerce’s product editor because it can overwrite what you’re trying to do in Events. Is that a correct understanding?
I believe the question 3 covers this. It is not so much that we ignore WooCommerce product editor. But rather that we prevent users from things such as modifying the product type.
This is mostly done to prevent compatibility and usability issues.
With that in mind, you could probably remove those restrictions. But, if you did so, usage would be completely at your own risk.
Let me know if that helps.
Have a great day!

KeymasterHey there! This thread has been pretty quiet for the last three weeks, so we’re going to go ahead and close it to avoid confusion with other topics. If you’re still looking for help with this, please do open a new thread, reference this one and we’d be more than happy to continue the conversation over there.
Thanks so much!
