ParticipantI’m having the exact same issue as a few have posted about. Everything was working correctly until upgrading. The actual events are showing, but I’m getting a 404 page when visiting the main event page (/events) or any of the category pages.
Went through the process of seeing if there were any conflicts, thinking maybe another plugin was causing issues. Not the case.
Here’s the problem now, I have downgraded to version 4.0.7 as suggested, but am still returning the 404 on both the main event page and the category pages.
What can I do now to at least have the pages show?

ParticipantJust for reference: I have now even tried to downgrade to version 4.0.6. Still not working.

MemberHi Cathryn,
Thanks for reahcing out to us and sorry to hear about the hassle while updating!
Have you tried re-generating permalinks after the plugin update? This generally fixes most issues with URLa and 404s. Just go to WP-Admin > Settings > Permalinks and click save changes.
Please let me know if that works for you,
Best,

ParticipantNico, thanks for responding! I have tried this, but still not working.
I read in one of the other posts that y’all have released 4.1.0.1. I was able to upgrade The Events Calendar plugin, but am unable to find the corresponding version for Events Calendar Pro in the download selection.
Any other updates?

ParticipantPlugin page only shows “4.1”.
I did go to Events > Settings > View Update Page to find:
“[4.1.0.1] 2016-03-17
Fix – Resolved multiple issues with the Germande_DElanguage file that caused a number of site-breaking issues”—-
Even with that, the links are still broken.
To be more specific the main events page (/events) and each category page is not showing.
BUT the individual events and venues are showing.
Really not understanding. Is there a possibility that a line in the code needs to be changed?

ParticipantI apologize for all of the messages this evening, have still been attempting to see if there’s something on my end I can do to fix the issue. (Site is suppose to go live for the first time this weekend and would really prefer to have this up and running as it’s a large portion of the site)
Am thinking it’s not actually a 404 error that’s happening. The title is showing correctly on the /events page. It says “EVENTS”, not “PAGE NOT FOUND”.
It’s like the page template is missing and has been overridden with the redirect page. I have switched between the “Default Events Template” and the “Default Page Template”.
Have already tried deleting both plugins and re-installing. Have also tried debugging with deactivating all plugins and activating Twenty Fifteen theme.

MemberHi Cathryn,
Thanks for following up! Really sorry to hear this is still an issue and I’m also sorry for the delay in my reply we generally give at least one reply every 24hrs, but after the release the activity in the forums was a bit higher than normal and we are still catching up with some folks.
As you say this doesn’t seem to be a 404 as the page title is showing up correctly, I couldn’t check this in your live site but I’ve got another report from a user with an issue with pretty similar symptoms. Let’s try the following:
- Go to WP-Admin > Events > Settings > Enable event views, in there leave just List checked.
- In the default view List should be automatically selected.
- Save Changes
- Re-test
- If it works re-enable all event views
If this still doesn’t work please try going to WP-Admin > Settings > Permalinks and choose default/ugly permalinks and re-test.
Please let me know about, sorry I cannot still give a definitive solution but I’m not able to reproduce this issue locally to see how to fix it.
Have a great weekend,

MemberAlso, if you can share the site URL that would be great 🙂
