Using Page (instead of Page Template) for "Events Template"

How is it possible to use a PAGE instead of “page template” as the events template. My theme allows me to customize sidebar, page header, etc. I would like to use a customized page and just replace the “content” area (or, alternatively be able to use a shortcode to display the main events page on any page I want, rather than forcing to use a plugin-generated page).

Unfortunately, you cannot insert The Events Calendar into a page. 🙁

I would like to request this as a new feature request, I think it is quite common to want to do what I am asking and many others would benefit from being able to do so. Thanks you for the reply and for your consideration.

Thank you for this feedback, and you’re right that it’s a pretty common request.

It’s a hard thing to implement, because enabling this would require some substantial re-working and re-imagining of some of the most core, essential facets of how The Events Calendar works.

But it’s something we’re actively—and frequently—wondering about and considering, and so it very well could end up as a feature.

To be honest, it will likely not be supported in any short-term sense—just wanted to make this clear so you can best set your expectations…but it’s on our radar and is a possibility for sure.
