Using Different Colors For Categorized Event Posts

I would like use two different colors to the data that is displayed on the monthly calendar or any calendar really. So, for example, I have Exclusive Events as Category 1, and Standard Events for Category 2. When i view the calendar, I want to see category 1 in Red, and Category 2 in Blue. Can you assist me with making these categories display differently? Thank you.
