ParticipantWe want to use the feature to require people to register before creating events.
But there will have to be some customization because otherwise they just become a subscriber since when you turn on anyone can register it opens the door to hacker/spammers. So a few questions on this part of the process:
Does the community events plugin have anyway to handle registrations for this option? – Otherwise you basically open the door to anyone and everyone registering for an account on your site and creating events.
If not –
When a user signs up what level of access do they need to the site – contributor, author, etc.
What file do I need to modify to insert shortcode for a user registration form using a plugin such as Profile Builder?
How does a user become assigned to a specific event organizer so that they can update and modify their events only? – when I tested as myself I could not add a new organizer.

MemberHi @dcantato,
Good question. The Community Events login and registration feature pulls directly from WordPress. In other words, the plugin does not attempt to change the WordPress process.
That said, the plugin does give you some control over role permissions once registered:
- First off, you can moderate all submissions before they are published. This ensures that nothing that could possibly be published without your approval.
- You can also block all or specific roles from being able to access to the WordPress dashboard. This protects you from inadvertently allowing certain roles into the back end of the site.
There is also the User Role Editor plugin which is a handy way to add and remove permissions from specific roles. I’d suggest that as another method for customizing the access level provided to newly registered users.
How does a user become assigned to a specific event organizer so that they can update and modify their events only? – when I tested as myself I could not add a new organizer.
Users and organizers are different things in the sense that the user is the author of the event and the organizer is an object that is assigned to the event, like a venue. In other words, users do not become assigned to a specific event organizer but can assign an organizer to an event.
Does this help clarify things a bit? Please let me know. 🙂
Cheers!
