Use Shortcode (Photo view) and show upcoming AND past events

We want to show both the upcoming AND past events on our home page, which is using the Event Calendar Pro Shortcode:

[tribe_events category=”all” view=”photo” tribe-bar=”false”]

Hey @Tomonori,

It sounds like you’re hoping to essentially have two instances of the shortcode—is that right? If so, this is unfortunately not possible at this time. There can only be one instance of the [tribe_events] shortcode on any given page.

It would be fine if it one instance of the shortcode – but I want to show both the upcoming and past events on the same page.

It’s unfortunately not really possible to have both upcoming and past events on the same page. 🙁

First is the fact that, as noted above, you can’t have two [tribe_events] shortcodes on the same page.

So when it comes to trying to make this work with only one [tribe_events] shortcode on a page, it won’t really be able to work as you describe. If you show the Month View with the [tribe_events] shortcode, then it will show all events of that month—some will be past, some upcoming. But other than this you can’t really have a separated set of events, where one set is upcoming, one is past.

So, I read in another thread that you guys are developing one that shows the YEAR view?
Can that be made to show ALL of the events (upcoming AND past) for the year?

If so, when will that be available?

The Year View will show all events of the year, yes—so if you’re currently in March, for example, the events from January and February will still be listed on the Year View. It will show all events from the Year, past and present.

Is this what you’re asking?

We unfortunately don’t have a specific release date in mind for the Year View—I would estimate that it will not arrive until this summer at the earliest.
