Hello, I am trying to adapt the Community Events add-on to our business incubator’s need for a resource booking calendar. We have conference rooms and equipment set up as Venues and would like to have our members request time in these rooms through the Community Events form, requiring approval from managers.
The managers would like to be able to see all of these rooms on one calendar so that, for example, if a member requests Room 1, and Room 1 is taken but Room 2 is available, they can book Room 1 for the member instead.
It would be great if this could integrate with our semi-public events calendar where we advertise workshops and seminars to our members, because these events take place in one of the conference rooms.
Ideally, we would also like to edit the Event Submission Form to meet these needs; ie, rename it as the Resource Booking Form, and eliminate fields pertaining to public events, ie website and cost.
Also ideally … this would send an email notification to the requester when his/her booking is approved, and another reminder to the requester the day of the booking.
This all seems possible … but I want to figure out the best way to set this up before inviting all of our incubator members to participate. Please let me know if you have any ideas.
