ParticipantThe plug-in we were using, iCal Importer, to import events from EMS Desktop Client retired and so we upgraded to Event Aggregator. We are unable to locate the URL needed to do the scheduled import. Can you assist with helping us recover the URL that iCal Importer was using? Thank you for the help!

MemberHi. I can try to help here.
So you’re saying the migration didn’t bring it over to your saved imports at wp-admin > Events > Imports > “Scheduled Imports” or “History” tab?
If not, you could search your database’s postmeta table for the ‘_EventIcalSource’ or ‘_EventSavedImport’ meta key(s). Let me know if you find anything there regarding EMS Desktop Client’s data. (Note it may not be the URL you’re looking for, but please send me what you find if it might be relevant.)

ParticipantHi Cliff,
Thank you for the help!
Yes, so the migration did not bring over our saved imports and I can’t find anything in the WordPress admin under Events called “Scheduled Imports” or “History.” I can see look at individual events that came over and see the following EMS sync data:

)But this doesn’t contain an iCal feed. Is there anywhere else you can think of that would contain this link? I will talk to the IT tech about the database searches you advised.
Thank you again!

MemberDo you have a backup of your site’s database from before Event Aggregator?

ParticipantHi Cliff,
We were able to figure out this issue. There was a problem with EMS Master Calendar and it wasn’t generating the iCal feed. We have another problem though. We’re doing a scheduled import and events are now showing up twice. Can you assist with this? I went through the settings, but couldn’t find anything to change for this.
Thank you very much for the assistance!
Best,
-Paul

MemberHi. Glad that got figured out. Bummer about the duplicates. Have you verified the iCalendar source file/URL is absent of duplicates?

ParticipantYes, the source is absent of duplicates. Is there a way to delete all events on the calendar so we can do a clean import from the iCal feed? I’m only seeing that we can delete 20 at a time (and we have over 3,000 events). Thank you!

MemberFirst, make sure to fully delete that scheduled import job. You’ll want to set it up fresh after completing your deleting.
Increasing 20 at a time is possible by choosing “Screen Options” in the top-right corner of any post listing in wp-admin (Posts, Pages, Events, etc)
Change it from the default 20 to 100. If you change it to too high a number, like 500, selecting all and deleting will likely time out on your site… in which case you’d know to refresh the post listing page and change it to a lower number… usually 100 is okay on all server setups.
Make sure to empty the trash before setting up the import again… and make sure to select a date in the past for your new import job, or else it will import from today-forward.
