ParticipantMy client runs various courses that recur through the year and last 3 weeks. They are Mon-Fri 9am-4pm for 3 weeks. I can’t seem to add this event without it automatically running over the weekends, is there a way to exclude them? I’d be happy to hide the event on weekend days in calendar view etc with JS/CSS for now if there is no proper fix or solution, but could do with a pointer to know how.
Apologies for the urgent tag but this really is time sensitive, I assumed the plugin would manage this from the outset.
Thanks

ParticipantHi, maze! This is a great question! 🙂
Sorry if setting this up isn’t very intuitive. Basically, you set up the recurrence as weekly and check the days of the week you want it to occur on. Here’s a screenshot:Â http://d.pr/i/6RmT
I also want to remind you that recurrence is currently unsupported by our ticketing plugins, so if you are attempting to set up ticketing for a recurring event, you’re bound to run into problems there.
Hope that helps!

ParticipantThanks Kelly.
I’m actually going to try using EDD tickets addon for the first time, this way I won’t need the bulk of WooCommerce just to use a small part of it.
So, I tried your suggestion and now the course runs right through the weekend days still and doesn’t recur. Is there not a way to say an event runs every weekday for these 3 weeks? I understand the complication with the recurrence but surely it’s possible. I’m going to be using the tickets addon to sell places on these courses, so obviously the course/event over the 3 weeks must just be one event and not seen as a separate instance of the course that runs on different days.

ParticipantOk, I’ve created a custom recurring event pattern, where the event:
* Starts and ends on the first day
* I’ve enabled a custom recurring event pattern ending on the last day
* Chosen the weekly custom recurrence pattern (for 1 week)
* Selected only the applicable days (Mon-Fri)Now I need to sell tickets to this event as a single event, is this possible? Or will EDD Tickets see each day as a separate event?
Thanks!

ParticipantHi, maze. The short answer is that ticketing does not work with recurrence at this time.
The ticketing framework is universal to all the ticketing plugins. We are currently in the process of refactoring recurrence so that we will be able to offer a robust solution for folks wanting to offer ticketing for these events, but the long and short of it is that at this time, it is unavailable and unsupported.
Now, since you only want to sell one ticket for the entire series, it may be that you could accommodate that by making the first day a separate, non-recurring event. That would work as a stop-gap until recurrence is supported by the ticketing plugins.
Sorry I don’t have better news for you. Please rest assured that this is a high priority for us and it will make it into the product as soon as we have it ready for prime time!

ParticipantOk, so I’ll just create each 3 week instance of the course as a separate event and will have to make sure the client adds that the courses don’t run on weekends next to the calendar. That’s the only way this works at the moment with ticketing I guess.
Thanks for your help!
