ParticipantYour plugin just created 17,241 instances of the same event, over a year. Since there are 365 days in a year, I let you figure out how many events it created per day.
My website is stuck, and this event is filling my database.
Please tell me which table I need to remove from database, for this specific event. Where do I find the right table?
Needless to tell you this is SUPER URGENT. Also, I’ve only had problems since I had the bad idea of buying this plugin. What was I thinking, really. Every new update breaks the css of my website, and now this. WTF, really

ParticipantI deactivated the plugin, but a script is still running. New instances of this event are created avery seconds!!!!! My database will be soon running out of space

ParticipantI managed to delete the instances created in the table, by launching an SQL command that deleted more than 22,000 meta_ids and there content. But I want to prevent this issue from happening again. Since this happened only with one event in particular, if I completely delete the event & the venue, this should theoretically solve the problem. What is your opinion regarding this issue? This is the kind of serious problem that should not happen, but still it occurred.
Now, my site is back online, and I could access wp-admin. I checked the “Events” tab, and the event I thought I had deleted in PHPmyadmin, is still visible in the table (More than 12,000). How can I bulk delete events now? I don’t want to do it from my WP admin, because it would literally take ages, and when I bulk delete events via my WP admins, it breaks my site (500 internal error). An alternative would be welcome.
I hope to read from you very soon on this issue.
Thx

ParticipantHey @Nicolas,
So sorry for the trouble here. This is a bug that arose last week. We could not recreate the problem at first, but more and more folks started reporting the issue and we were finally able to figure out the problem.
Our developers worked hard to get a fix done over the weekend and ready for this Monday morning—the fix is now available within Events Calendar Pro 4.2.2.1, so please update to that version of the plugin (and ensure you’re on version 4.2.2 of The Events Calendar itself, etc.).
This should help prevent this issue from happening again!
As for bulk deleting events, WordPress is unfortunately fairly limited in its capacity for this. Your best bet is to either:
• search on wordpress.org/plugins for a “bulk delete” plugin; there are many options, all free, so look for ones with high ratings and try out some of these plugins. they should help!
• contact your web host to see if they can help perform a mass deletion on the database-side of things. this may or may not be possible depending on who your web host is, but if you explain the problem and make it clear which events you want deleted, they may be able to write and perform some SQL queries that wipe out all of the event series with this problem.
Please do update to Events Calendar Pro 4.2.2.1 and let us know if it helps—thank you for your patience here!

ParticipantOk, I managed to delete the tables using an SQL command. However, I trust this issue deserves particular attention, as this may happen again. The main question is: “how is it possible that an event started replicating itself, and literally goes out of hand?”
Thx

ParticipantHey Nicolas,
Excellent! I’m glad you were able to clear out the old events.
This issue definitely deserved special attention, and our developers worked hard on publishing a fix early in the week. As noted above, we just published Events Calendar Pro 4.2.2.1 this morning—if you update to this version, then the “runaway” recurrence should not happen again!
The error happened because of a an issue with the way the recurrence engine was generating recurrence rules for events.
Let us know if the 4.2.2.1 update helps!
Sincerely,
