ParticipantI installed WordPress in a sub-directory.
Installed themes, The Events Calendar PRO and Community Events.
Once all was setup and configured, I planned to put it into production, by making sure that WordPress hade the Site Address to the domain name top level.
After doing this. The Events Calendar do not work!
I do not know what to do!
Need urgent help!I installed WordPress as follows:
http://www.mydomain.com/events
Event Calendar Pro would be:
http://www.mydomain.com/events/eventsAfter changing the Site Address (URL) my site shows fine with:
http://www.mydomain.comBut when I click to see the Event Calendar, the URL in the browser states:
http://www.mydomain.com/eventsMay 2, 2013 at 7:16 am #47456Barry
MemberHave you also changed the home URL and flushed the permalinks (by visiting the Settings > Permalinks admin page)?

ParticipantHi Barry!
Thank you for taking the time to reply.
I followed the instructions on this page:
http://codex.wordpress.org/Giving_WordPress_Its_Own_DirectoryI only updated the Site Address (URL) and kept WordPress Address (URL) since I kept the core files in the “sub-directory” (/events).
I did go to the Permalinks under Settings and picked another Common Setting and SAVED it. But it did not help anyhow.
Not sure what you mean by “flushed the permalinks”.
Thank you for your willingness to help out!
For the moment being, I went back to as I set it up before putting the “new” site into production, then I only created a index.php file in the root with a header(Location:) redirect to the sub-directory where I installed WordPress.
I would like to move it some day so that it is working as intended.
Sincerely,

MemberOK – all I can really suggest is trying again and following the instructions in the Codex article verbatim.
It’s not unusual to install WordPress in a sub directory but have it show as if it was in the “root” and I’ve seen other installations that use The Events Calendar do this successfully.

ParticipantI will give it yet another go a little into the future and keep you posted about my results.
Thank you for taking the time to support me!

MemberNo problem – should it help, when I tested yesterday it seemed that if I navigated back to the home page I ended up at yoursite.com/events rather than yoursite.com – so my impression was that this was not specific to The Events Calendar but rather the way the installation had been configured.
Certainly do post back if you need more help though.

ParticipantThanks again Barry!
I changed back not that long after I discovered that it did not work. I had promised to have the whole “new” site up and running. I guess that when you did the testing, I had already put it back to as it was when I installed it and then created the redirect function under mysite.com/index.php to redirect the browser to mysite.com/events.
The challenging things is to do the changes when something is in production and used. 🙂
Will keep you posted!
