Upgarde from Personal to Business?

I want to try the Pro (Personal) on a pet site of mine. If I like it, can I then upgrade to Business ($149) with a credit of $89 (Personal)? In otherwords, will I get credit for the $89 already paid if I decide to upgrade?

What you describe for the license is correct. You would get credit for the Personal License Purchase.
