    This is more of just an fyi for others.

    I have Event Tickets Plus and Event Calendar Pro installed. I got a noticed that there was an update available. Since you have to have the base plugin updated firs (i.e before the Pro) I updated Event Tickets. It went fine. Then I tried to update Event Tickets Plus and caused a critical error that brought down the site. To bring it back up I ftp’d in and renamed the Plus plugin which caused the plugin to deactivate and thankfully enabled the site to come back up. To make the story short I went through a few steps before I realized that before I could update Event Tickets Plus I needed to first update the base version of Event Calendar. In other words, don’t update the either the pro/plus version of the calendar or tickets until the base versions are first updated. Once the bases are updated then updated the pro/plus version and the updates run smoothly.

    M.T. – You guys should have handlers in the code based to prevent this from happening.

    Hi,

    Thanks for using our plugins. Sorry for the issues, but thanks for bringing this up.

    We are not able to reproduce on our test sites, but just in case we put up a sticky message to encourage people to update the base plugins first and then the premium plugins.

    So it appears we do have to checks in place, but not for every instance. Did you copy the error message you got? That would help us prevent this in the future.
